Dr. Murthy Anjanappa (Dakshinamurthy Anjanappa)

Dr. Dakshinamurthy Anjanappa is also known as Murthy Anjanappa and is well known in the Indian community in Sydney. 

Murthy is very popular artist and is well versed with various types of paintings like Oil Painting, Water & Acrylic colour painting, Tanjore painting, Mysore painting along with various type of crafts like Foil Embossing, Sculpture making, Polystyrene work, Vegetable Carving etc. His speciality is speed painting/sand work on the stage in front of audience.

Murthy is the former President of Sewa Australia https://sewaaustralia.org/ which is a not-for-profit Charity Organization serving the community since 26 years. Sewa helps community and new migrants through various programs like Family Support Services, Crack Your First Job, Crack Your First Business, Seniors Milan, Blood & Plasma Donation, Clean-up Australia, Helping Flood and Bush Fire affected victims, Training Refugee migrant women etc 

Murthy has served the community for more than 2 decades including serving as President of Sydney Kannada Sangha, Treasurer of United Indian Association etc. He is a regular volunteer at Food Bank, Sewa Australia etc.

Murthy has been helping the community through other Volunteer Organizations. Few are listed below. 

Murthy has been mentoring his daughters Mili & Khushi Dakshin with ‘Painting for Charity’ https://paintingforcharity.org/ which has raised more than $47,700 to help various charities. He has been supportive and helped them perform and raise funds at more than 50 events.
Murthy has conducted Computer training to Refugee Migrant Women Jesuit Refugee Service https://aus.jrs.net/en/jesuit-refugee-service/ ,

He has volunteered at various events including Lend a helping Hand project helping a family with a kid having Autism, Volunteering at Food Bank https://www.foodbank.org.au/?state=nsw-act , Clean up Australia, Tree Plantation drives etc.

He has delivered training on how to find jobs to group of Tamil Women as part of the PPDS (Pathway to Personal Development and Success) project organized by Ethnic Communities’ Council of NSW 

He architected free ‘Crack Your First Business’ to help new migrants as part of Sewa initiative.  

He has helped the community through various free information sessions about property investment and SMSF.

Murthy has been recognized and awarded “Kuncha Kalavida” title by ‘Sugama Kannada Koota’. He was also recognised as one of the popular Indian Community Leaders by the Indian Executive Club (IEC) during their flagship event ‘Whos who in Sydney’s Indian Community’ and published an article about him in 2018. 

His artistic talent was recognised by Sydney Kannada Sangha during their 25th year celebration. Jnana Jyothi Educational Trust in Bengaluru has honoured him with their highest award for his contribution to the community. 

His interests include Painting, riding Motor bikes, riding Jet Skis, riding Jet Boards, driving Sports cars, Singing, Drone videography, Property investment, travelling to different countries etc. 

Murthy loves Cricket and was the Opening bowler at the popular ‘Heathcote Club’ in Sydney for 6 years.  

IT Professional by background, Dr. Murthy currently works at Hitachi Vantara as a Senior Manager in a Global role. He has been selected as the Ambassador for the ‘Diversity, Equity and Inclusion’ team within Hitachi Vantara.
